On 12th March My Care at Home held a charity afternoon tea event for Suffolk Age UK as part of their Challenge 65 campaign. This is the second charity event that we have held since we launched in July 2013.

The event was held in the Village Hall in Stonham Aspal. We set up the hall with tablecloths balloons and even had a play area for the children to use. We had lots of delicious cakes, brownies scones and more. It was lovely to see a lot of our clients coming along to visit and lots of people from the local community.

We also held a raffle with the star prize being a private flight over Suffolk in a light aircraft which was donated by Maggie’s husband.

It was a fabulous afternoon with loads of people coming into say thanks. We managed to raise £206.39 for the charity.

Then on the 27th March I was invited by Suffolk Age UK to go along to a special awards evening at Seckford Hall. They were giving awards to the companies or people that had raised the most amount of money. It was a lovely evening and good to meet some people that raised an amazing amount of money. I was really impressed with the community spirit of Otley villagethat worked together and raised over £1000. And My Care at Home won a certificate too for raising the most with just one event. I was very proud to receive this.
