CQC-reportWe are proud and pleased to share with you our CQC report for our Suffolk Home Care service. The full report can be downloaded here but here is an over view of the report.

We were inspected as part of a routine check and inspected on the following standards in May 2014.

  • Treating people with respect and involving them in their care
  • Providing care, treatment and support that meets people’s needs
  • Caring for people safely and protecting them from harm
  • Staffing
  • Quality and suitability of management.

The inspector looked at all of our paperwork to ensure everything was in order and then talked to our clients and our staff about their views of the Home Care Service.  The Inspector said we met all the standards above with no actions for improvement which is the maximum we could have achieved.

The CQC grading at the moment is that all services are graded as either being compliant or non-compliant.  Later this year the CQC are updating their inspections and are introducing inspection ratings which are:

  • Outstanding
  • Good
  • Requires improvement
  • Inadequate

Our next inspection will be rated in this way and we will be aiming for OUTSTANDING.

One of the main points that we pride ourselves on is our care planning and our approach to care. We make sure that our clients get the care that they want when they want it. We only do a minimum of an hour and we make sure that the clients have a small team of care workers that are their regulars. The inspector was impressed with our care plans and she could clearly see that all our care plans are individual and from reading them could see that the client was involved in writing them. When she spoke with our clients they confirmed that they were involved in their care plans and that they were happy with the level of care that they receive. She also remarked how she was impressed with our Ethos, Culture and Vision for the Future.

A Client told the CQC  “It is a well organised and well run establishment with a genuine caring attitude amongst all the staff. They (staff) are polite, cheerful and kind in nature. They (staff) do things how they know I like things to be done. I have no complaints. I would highly recommend the service and have done so. They (staff) stay the allocated time, turn up when they should and do everything that is required. I always know who is coming and have a regular team of people that come to me. All in all it works superbly and if there are any changes the office will ring me straight away and inform me”

We pride ourselves on treating our care workers well, we ensure that they receive face to face training, we do regular supervisions to ensure that they are working to a high standard, we pay our staff a living wage and pay for their mileage/travel time. It’s important to us to support and appreciate our staff because this ensures they deliver a high quality service to our clients.

One of our carers said that the management team had been, “Incredibly supportive and approachable from the onset and were always available if you need them.”

When My Care at Home was born it was Claire and Maggie’s vision to provide the highest quality of Care by a team who receive the best training, share the My Care Values and feel supported. The glowing report from the CQC Inspection showed we are well and truly on the path to our vision with much more to follow………….

We are also thankful to the CQC and the report confirming how well we are doing.
